A New Beginning

A note of congratulations here to President-elect Barack Obama. We also made sure to screw up a whole bunch of stuff so we can give you the full F.D.R. experience as soon as you take over.

I'll be very interested to see more data regarding voter turnout and such. Seems like the polls expected a bit more of a blowout for the Democrats, which raises some questions worth looking at. Did young people really turn out as expected? Did Sarah Palin and John McCain actually manage to scare otherwise-uninspired Republicans to the polls? Stuff worth looking into after the wild conjecture of the pundits has fallen off some and the glow of victory dims a bit.

What now? Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that rather than ending with the election, our job has just begun. Now more than ever, our representatives in Washington need to know how we feel and need to be held accountable for their performance. And that's in part the whole raison d'etre of this blog. Hopefully it'll provide a little education, a little watchdoggery, and a little kick in the ass.
